Randi Zuckerberg’s & Julia Allison’s Bicoastal Birthday Bash | Event Photography, San Francisco
I’ve never been happier to have cancelled my Saturday night plans at the last minute as I was last weekend! All ’cause I was asked to photograph Randi Zuckerberg’s (of Facebook.com) and Julia Allison’s (of NonSociety.com) dual bicoastal birthday party. That’s right, the previous night’s celebration had been in New York… these long-time friends with the same birthday sure know how to celebrate a special day! 
The theme of the night was any combo of pink, girly, and/or 80’s preppy, making for some downright hilarious outfits complete with black & pink polka dots and plenty of headbands. Some of the evening’s highlights included the amazing cake that showed up in the shape of a pink 80’s handbag with an iphone sticking out of it wishing the gals happy birthday on Facebook, Julia & Randi’s matching pink-as-pink-can-be Betsy Johnson sequin dresses and sparkly princess shoes, and Randi’s singing of a rockin’ rendition of “I Will Survive” with the 80’s cover band GravyBoat… Enjoy! I think Randi and her husband are such a cute couple!! And I didn't do this on purpose, but I *love* how the little lights turned into heart shapes on the second shot of them!
) that I hadn’t noticed earlier, with a bunch of shiny silver tinsel pieces, each one with a person’s written prayer or wish on it, hanging from a metal sculpture. I had this wonderful couple stand in the middle of all the tinsel flying around in the wind that had picked up at this point, and with no planning whatsoever, the piece of tinsel that flies into focus right in front of my lens says “I wish to find a loving man”. Well, Bernadette sure did with Allan!
